Mindset

It's widely believed that what a man does is the complete decision of the jury of his mind. If that is the case, then, what comprises the jury of one's mind? Well, I may not be able to give explicit and acurate description of that but all that I know is that decision is aided by some unseen forces of the mind.

Your thinking and reasoning abilities  are effected by wise judgemental consideration. We have lots of people, in history and contemporary times who have different mindsets. In the Bible, I'll pick the first two sons of Adam, Cain and Abel. Cain was a farmer. He planted vegetables and root crops. Abel, also, was a farmer. His aspect of farming was based in livestock farming or Shepherd business.

Cain, a forage crops farmer, had no respect for life but Abel, a shepherd, the importance of a living cattle, ram or sheep. Cain had a parochial way of thinking but Abel thinking degree was so high. Cain didn't fear the God that gave him the increase of his crops but Abel feared God and reverenced Him. Cain showed his ingratitude behaviour when he was asked to offer his first sacrifice by offering rotten farm produce and lower class crops.

His mindset was that the best should be reserved for sale and for him alone. No one could force him to give out the best. He asserted that he is the owner of everything. Considering the fact that, he planted and grew them all by himself, he had no effrontry to rejecting offer of God in giving just a little out of the abundant supply He gave him.

Abel's mindset, on the safer side, was entirely different. He showed appreciations to God for increasing the numbers of his lifestocks, giving them good health and making his a prosperous shepherd. He was grateful that God could show him mercy by demanding him to offer Him burnt offering. He seized the opportunity to surprise God and to show His gratitude to Him. We saw, according to the story that, Abel's offering was accepted because he offered the beat out of a right mindset while Cain's was rejected because he offered the least out of a wrong and incorrigible mind. This led to another dilemma. Cain was angry that God accepted the offering of Abel and rejected his. This made him to slew his brother and hid him in the field. That was not all, when God asked him of his brother, because of his wrong and amiss mindset, he replied God in a rude manner, saying that, was he the keeper of his brother? That is extent a wrong mindset can lead you. You don't give respect to humanity nor God. You will always want to disobey coinstituted authority and God, the Creator of heaven and earth. Change your mindset today and live a better and  blessed life.
